Description of the workshop
High-performance computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are essential in accelerating scientific discovery and innovation. However, their growing computational demands result in significant energy consumption, raising concerns about power efficiency, operational cost, thermal management, and environmental sustainability, especially in regions with limited infrastructure and high electricity costs, such as Latin America.
This workshop addresses the urgent need for energy-efficient solutions in AI and HPC by fostering collaboration among academic researchers, industry practitioners, and system architects.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
– software and hardware co-design for energy efficiency,
– energy-aware scheduling,
– monitoring frameworks,
– optimisation strategies tailored for scientific computing and deep learning.
The workshop aims to build a strong community focused on sustainable computing in Latin
America and beyond.
